EASTER EDITION: Vol 1 No 2
Now is the time to be preparing your garden for the
summer, if you have not already started.
Here are some things you might consider doing.
1. Use a 'weed and feed' treatment on your lawn.
2. Use twigs to support tall plants such
as peas.
3. Sow a few lettuce plants every two
weeks and have a continuous summer
supply.
4. Now is a good time to re-pot your
house plants.
5. Use ash from burnt wood (only) as a
source of fertiliser (potash) for your
plants

MAY EDITION: Vol 1 No 3
1. Start regular feeding of house plants.
2. Nothing tastes better than home-grown
vegetables - even 'gro-bags' are good in
restricted areas.
3. Trim hedges to control size and increase
density
4. Plant annual bedding plants for a lot of summer
colour.
5. Don't forget your pots and hanging baskets.
6. Keep those weeds under control - hoe them
regularly.
7. Make your own garden compost in a specially
designed bin. (many makes and varieties)

JUNE EDITION: Vol 1 No 4
1. Newly planted trees and scrubs should be
watered sufficiently to ensure good
establishment.
2. Plants growing in pots and containers need
regular watering - don't rely on the rain!
3. Dead-heading annual flowers gives a
prolonged display by encouraging new blooms.
4. Keep an eye out for slugs and fly damage on
some plants
5. Lawns require regular cutting to keep them
looking good and may also need 'weeding and
feeding'.
6. Wide range of annual bedding plants now
available for colourful summer beds.
7. Herbaceous perennials available in a very
wide range for colour and interest that comes
back year after year.

JULY EDITION: Vol 1 No 5
The following are some of the things you should be
considering for your garden at this time of the year.
1. Continue to spray rose plants.
2. Cut grass regularly.
3. Remove dead flower heads or bedding plants
to encourage further blooms.
4. Keep weeds at bay.
5. Plan changes to your displays, inside and out,
if required.
6. Start gathering ripe fruits.
